ENDURO TOUR FAQ

Everything riders ask before booking a guided enduro tour from Merzouga into the Moroccan Sahara.

Riding level & licence

Do I need enduro experience to ride the Merzouga dunes?

It is not essential for the 3-day loop, but off-road experience is recommended. Dune sessions start progressively on compact sand and the guide adapts the pace. The 5- and 6-day expeditions suit riders already comfortable off-road.

Which driving licence do I need?

A valid category A motorcycle licence. If your licence is not valid in Morocco, bring an international driving permit.

How fit do I need to be?

Desert riding is physical, especially in soft sand. Good general fitness makes every stage safer and more enjoyable.

Bikes, gear & support

Which motorcycles do you use?

A KTM enduro fleet prepared for deep sand, fast piste and rocky passes. Ask about the bikes available for your dates when you enquire.

Can I rent riding gear?

Yes. Helmet, boots, body armour, riding clothes, gloves and goggles are available. You can also bring your own kit.

What safety gear is mandatory?

Helmet, enduro boots, chest protector, knee guards and gloves.

Is there a support vehicle?

Yes. A 4×4 chase vehicle carries luggage, water, tools, common spares and fuel support, and meets the riders at planned points on accessible tracks.

Is a mechanic included?

Yes. A dedicated mechanic travels with the group and inspects every motorcycle daily.

Tours & routes

How long are your Sahara enduro tours?

We run 3-, 4-, 5- and 6-day routes. The 3- and 4-day tours loop from Merzouga; the 5-day goes Errachidia to Foum Zguid and the 6-day Foum Zguid to the Dadès valley.

Where do the tours start?

Our base is Merzouga at the foot of the Erg Chebbi dunes. Errachidia airport transfers are included on the loops and the 5-day expedition.

Do you ride on Dakar Rally tracks?

Yes. The 6-day expedition includes sections of the original Paris–Dakar route around Foum Zguid and Lake Iriki.

When is the best season for enduro in Merzouga?

Autumn, winter and spring offer the most comfortable temperatures. Summer is very hot; routes and riding times are adapted to the conditions.
