Enduro motorcycle tracing a line across Erg Chebbi sand

// ERG CHEBBI RIDING BASE

MERZOUGA ENDURO TOURS

Start at the foot of Erg Chebbi and move from compact training sand to high dune lines, dry lake beds, rocky hamada and remote desert tracks. Our guided Merzouga enduro tours pair a KTM enduro fleet with local navigation, a dedicated mechanic and 4×4 chase support.

01

Learn the dunes, then go deeper

The first session is progressive: body position, momentum, crest safety and controlled descents on readable slopes. As confidence builds, the route moves into larger bowls and longer dune links. Beyond the erg, the terrain changes quickly to stony plateaus, sandy oueds and fast desert piste.

02

Guided rental, not a bike handover

Erg Chebbi demands local route knowledge. The motorcycle is part of a guided experience rather than an unsupported rental: your guide chooses lines for the group's level and adapts the day to wind, sand and visibility.

03

A base made for short, intense escapes

Merzouga puts the dunes minutes from the start. Choose a concentrated three-day loop or the four-day route through Ouzina, Ramlia, Tafraout Sidi Ali and M’Harech without losing riding time to long road transfers.

RIDER FAQ

Can I rent a KTM enduro motorcycle in Merzouga without a guide?

Our motorcycles are offered as part of guided rides. The dunes shift, tracks split, and remote sections have limited services, so local navigation and group support are central to the experience.

Do I need previous sand experience?

Previous off-road riding is recommended. New sand riders begin on compact terrain and smaller slopes before the guide considers more technical dune lines.

What terrain surrounds Erg Chebbi?

Expect soft dunes, firm sand, dry lake beds, rocky hamada, gravel piste and sandy riverbeds. The exact mix changes with each route and current desert conditions.
